  11. It looks like we will be able to vote from tommorow. I think the first
  12. thing that should go on a vote is the famous CTRL+A question. Let me
  13. remind you of the various options that were discussed:

  18. CTRL+A            Select All
  19. Shift+CTRL+A      Deselect

  21. This is consistent with both the German standard and the Atari style
  22. guide. It is also an accepted standard on other platforms and is now a
  23. well established standard on Atari software. The Shift+CTRL+A option
  24. merely adds an extra feature to this.
  25. Any change from this will mean that the majority of ST programs will have
  26. to be modified to comply. I also doubt that we will be taken seriously by
  27. other developers if we change such an established standard.

  32. The case has been made for Select All being a 'dangerous' operation in
  33. text processors that use a big cursor system. Under such a system
  34. selecting CTRL+A by mistake and typing something can potentially delete
  35. the whole document. Try Atari Works for a demo of this. The option that
  36. was suggested was:

  44. will ammend the main proposal accordingly so we can vote on that.
